The AASHA Experience
In 2001, realizing that sexual harassment was one of the major blocks on women’s path to social development and self-empowerment—and no longer willing to accept the situation or the web of myths surrounding it—Dr. Fouzia Saeed initiated a major movement in the field. She reached out to like-minded individuals and organizations, understanding that the issue was too widespread to be tackled by one entity alone. This collaboration led to the birth of AASHA (Alliance Against Sexual Harassment), a pioneering coalition in Pakistan addressing workplace harassment.
